On November 19, 2019, the Legislative Assembly of Alberta commemorated the victims of the 1932-1933 Holodomor. Representatives of the Parliament and Government of Alberta and representatives of the Ukrainian community of the province addressed the guests of the event. In the course of the event there was a symbolic ignition of a "candle of memory" and performances of a children's choir of students of Ukrainian bilingual programs. The guests of the event noted the importance of learning the lessons of the Holodomor, the indelible and irreparable trace he left in the history of becoming a Ukrainian state. Representatives of the provincial authorities in their speeches noted the necessity and urgency of further assistance to Ukraine in countering the Russian aggression, which still impedes the independence and independence of Ukraine, the desire of Ukrainians to freely choose their path of development.
